ModelCo x I.AM.GIA

If you haven’t already heard of Australian fashion label I.AM.GIA there’s a good chance you would have scrolled through some of the “it” girl supermodels of the moment (Bella Hadid and Kaia Gerberhave to name drop a few) wearing the military-inspired combat pants, plaid two-piece sets and color-blocked sweatsuits on Instagram. Alana Pallister and sister Stevie, co-founders and brains behind the much loved Melbourne fashion label Tiger Mist, launched I.AM.GIA only a year ago and have already acquired a cult celebrity following (#GiaArmy anyone?!) So it was a no-brainer when we were approached to collaborate for their Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia debut.

As the makeup sponsor behind the beauty look(s) for their RESORT ’19 show, the brief from the brand was unique, “avoid uniformity and maximise each model’s individuality”. The end result? A dramatic winged eye, luminescent skin, bushy boy-brows, bleach brows and barely there at all makeups!

INSPIRATION:  “Say no to uniformity. You can’t box beauty in! Think raw & real. Join the #GiaArmy”

LOOK 1:

1 – Massage & press ModelCo Rosehip Luxury Facial Oil into the skin

Start by prepping the skin by adding hydration in the form of rosehip oil which is easily absorbed.

2 – Warm up ModelCo Fluid Splash 3 in 1  Foundation + a tiny amount of ModelCo Luminosity Skin Highlighter and press into the skin for a sheer coverage

Pressing foundation into the skin with finger tips and palms allows for a sheer application, add coverage only wear needed to smooth out skin tone.

3 – Use ModelCo Instant Cover Concealer on end of foundation to add coverage where needed

Pat concealer under the eye and over any blemishes on the skin to allow for a polished, natural looking finish.

4 – Rosehip oil lightly pressed on to highpoints of face for natural sheen

Go back in with the rosehip oil and press a tiny amount onto the cheek bones, brow bone and bow of lips.

5 – ModelCo Lashxtend Mascara applied to top lashes

Gently wiggle the brush from roots to tip to coat lashes evenly.

6 – Model Co Lip Plumper Gloss

Apply to the centre of thelips to enhance the naturally most volumninous part of the mouth.

LOOK 2:

Repeat Steps 1-4 from above look

5 – ModelCo Luminosity Skin Highlighter tapped into centre of eye lids or corner of eyes (depending on eye shape)

6 –  ModelCo Waterproof Eye Define Liner tracing the eye shape, finishing with a dramatic wing

Starting at the inner corner of the top eyelid press liner into the root of the lashes to create a thick line curving upwards towards the end of the brow, tapering to a sharp point. Repeat the same step starting at the bottom inner corner and trace to meet at the eye edge, joinging the wing. Repeat the whole process to thicken and darken.

7 – ModelCco Lashxtend Mascara applied to top lashes

Gently wiggle the brush from roots to tip to coat lashes evenly. Repeat three times for overly exaggerated, pumped-up lashed.

8 – ModelCo Lip Plumper Gloss

Apply to the centre of the lips to enhance natural shape and volume.

9 – ModelCo More Brows Fibre Gel swept through brows

Tame, tint and add volume to the brows by brushing through in the opposite direction of hair growth to deposit the colour. Next recomb, brushing hairs upwards following the natural direction of hair growth to set in place.
